The European Union has placed an important focus on Europe’s cultural heritage as a wealth related to the history and culture of European countries. 2018 was the year of cultural heritage as a shared resource in Europe to raise awareness of history, collective values and also to strengthen the common sense and belonging to a common cultural and historical heritage. The European Council highlighted the importance of cultural heritage as a basis for raising awareness of the social, econo- cal and cultural importance of European heritage. The European Union has therefore created several initiatives, mainly focused on education, to integrate the teaching of European cultural heritage in schools and skills institutes, focusing teaching on innovative and digital approaches.  Promoting and putting into practice an integrated and participative approach to teaching and raising awareness of European cultural heritage is crucial for creating a united, inclusive and sustainable Europe and, above all, involving young people in the process of unifying European thinking.
